Last year, as many of you know, Jill and I lost our four-year old labrador retriever, Goethe, to malignant lymphoma. What we didn’t know was how much we’d be sucked into that black hole she left in her wake. Instead of mourning her death, we decided to celebrate her life by creating a legacy that would help other pet owners maintain that healthy, loving bond between them and their pets.
By creating the Goethe Fund, we are dedicated to raising money and awareness for Denver-based pet support centers, whether they be shelters or hospitals, it’s the mission of the Goethe Fund to keep pets healthy and alive so they can dole out that unconditional love we come to expect from our pets. It’s as easy as that.
Our first beneficiary is Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, Colorado’s largest non-for-profit animal hospital. They serve low and fixed-income pet owners who fall short of being able to provide vital veterinary care for their pets. Often times, these people are forced to choose between pet care and food for their family.
Please watch this video and learn how I’m planning raise $25,000 over the next five years, and how you can help.
